ECO FACTS

Be Aware of the information and save our ECO system.
  • Recycled aluminum saves 95% energy vs. virgin aluminum; recycling of one aluminum can saves enough energy to run a TV for 3 hours.
  • If we recycled every plastic bottle we used, we would keep 2 billion tons of plastic out of landfills.
  • Production of recycled paper uses 80% less water, 65% less energy and produces 95% less air pollution than virgin paper production.
  • Recycled glass saves 50% energy vs. virgin glass; recycling of one glass container saves enough energy to light a 100-watt bulb for 4 hours.
  • A modern glass bottle would take 4000 years or more to decompose -- and even longer if it's in the landfill.
  • Recycling one glass bottle saves enough energy to light a 100-watt bulb for four hours.
  • Energy-saving light bulbs last around ten times longer than ordinary light bulbs- over 10,000 hours.
  • A laptop is more environment friendly than a desktop. It consumes five times less electricity.
  • An aluminum can that is thrown away will still be a can 500 years from now!
  • A single tree will absorb one ton of carbon dioxide over its lifetime. Shade provided by trees can also reduce your air conditioning bill by 10 to 15 per cent.
  • Tissue paper is a major source of waste. It takes 60,00,000 trees to make 1 year's worth of tissues for the world.
  • A ton of recycled paper equals or saves 17 trees in paper production.
  • A plant on your desk acts as a natural filter, absorbing airborne pollutants and computer radiation while replenishing oxygen levels.
  • Lawns only need watering once a week, post rain only after two weeks. Do watering early morning for minimal evaporation and water conservation.
  • Crawling traffic contributes eight times as much air pollution as traffic moving at regular highway speed.
  • Avoiding just 10 miles of driving every week would eliminate about 500 pounds of carbon dioxide emissions a year!
  • Turn off the tap when brushing your teeth and soaping your hands. This can save around 16 litres a day. That's 11,000 litre of water per person per year.
  • A dripping tap can waste over 20,000 litres of water every year.

Few Tips to Save Petrol..

1. Drive slow at a constant speed and avoid sudden acceleration, which increase the fuel consumption.

2. Do not apply the brakes frequently. This not only keeps the vehicle in good condition, it also helps you save fuel.

3. Always switch off the engine while waiting for the light to turn green. Waiting with the engine on for more than a minute means more fuel consumption. Comparatively, the engine uses lesser fuel to restart.

4. Don't overload the vehicle. The heavier the vehicle, the more fuel it will consume.

5. You must maintain the engine in good condition. A bad engine can cut the vehicle's mileage by as much as 20 per cent. The spark plugs must be checked regulary. The engine oil should be checked and used according to the manual specifications. Make sure air filters are clean.

6. Change the lubricant at regular intervals. Use only branded oil recommended by the manufacturer. It is also advisable to use an engine flush before changing the oil to remove dirt in the engine.

7. It is always better to be in neutral and use the brakes rather than using the clutch and accelerator when you want to halt for a little while.

8. Apply clutch at appropriate times while driving, inefficient use of handling clutch leads to more fuel consumption. Use the clutch carefully only when changing gears.

9. Always ensure the tyres have the right amount of pressure. A good inflated tyre makes your drive smooth, safe and efficient.

10. Also be very careful about changing gears. A higher gear at low speed and vice versa will lead to loss of more fuel. You must shift gears carefully and according to the desired speed. This will cause less strain on your engine.

11. Plan your routes very carefully. Sometimes taking a longer route helps as you may be caught in a traffic jam in the shorter route. Also plan your trip in such a manner that you can get several things done in one trip.

12. Don't take vehicles to nearby places or travel destinations. It always uses more fuel on short distances. Walking is good for your health as well!

Hope this will help us save our money..

Life Never Has or Had Seemed to be a Cake Walk!!

I am still wondering on how could i have ever joined PSG Tech for a PG programme and complete it quite successfully, for those things i have done in the past.

I can still remember my UG college days, where no attendance-no regular class-no notes-no nothing. Enjoyment and Having Fun are the most common things for us in our college, ofcourse what more to expect from an arts college. Still, i managed to complete the course. And, with the marks i had from my UG programme i am sure, i couldnot even thought of getting into PSG Tech., then came the TANCET [Entrance] examination. Oho God!! Still i dont have an idea of how i got a decent score. And adding to that, i got my seat @ PSG Tech.

Dream Come True, Not Really!! More than that..

I have had my days @ PSG. Caught for attendance lack[couldn't get out from my UG flow], standing in the corridor of Dr.R.N [to say the truth, an exposure to the department staffs]. Waiting for days together, just to hear that we are provided with leave for another couple of days in the name of suspension. Quite good infact, really made me think a lot of myself and how i should be from there after.

Then, came LOGIN.. The best part of my life @ PSG. Made me closer with my Seniors and also with few Alumni. More than everything, my other side to Dr.R.N. Gave me some hope of carrying out in PSG after my doubtful start. And as the time passed, i managed somehow to clear all my subjects with good marks[really] and do played my role in organizing our departmental TRIP and THIRAN.

Those do helped me in gaining some respect in the department. Then came the placements, for my surprise, with my knowledge of aptitude i got placed in the second company. No one believed, took some time for me to get convinced. Then came the tougher part, no dual, but somehow managed to get myself into Bangalore for my internship.

MetricStream Inc., my first exposure to the IT world and what a way to begin! Just loved my time @ MS with my seniors. The thing which i loved most is the dress code and work timing with no restriction to internet, really enjoyed a lot. I just dont know how many of us can proudly say that, being an intern and still meeting the CEO. But, i had the chance just within few weeks time.
Had a very good time @ office but not @ bangalore, stupid city :-P Full of traffic, pollution, no proper food and very much of no respect. The problem is not really with them i should say, the language which they speak don't seem to have any respect for itself. Horrible?!?!?!

But, leaving those stuff, i do had a good time with my bike and few really good friends. And one good thing about bangalore is that, no one have to worry about using glasses for seeing. Everything are really clear and No hiding business.. really makes our eye sight PAKKA!!!

And after all these stuff for the past 3 years, here i am again @ my home. Again Confused of Watz Next?!?!? But, deep inside my heart i am resting @ peace, hoping that..
